UPCOMING BOOK: And, Sometimes Growing Feels Like Losing

We’re pleased to share with you news about an upcoming book, “AND, SOMETIMES GROWING FEELS LIKE LOSING” written by Syra Yang.

SYRA YANG is a Hmong educator and a guardian to her ten nephews and nieces.  She received her Master of Arts in Literacy Education from Hamline University, a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education from the University of South Carolina Upstate, and finished her minor in Spanish at La Universidad de Costa Rica. Syra was born and raised on the east coast and currently resides in Minnesota.

As Syra shared: “In our current state of things, I just keep thinking about the lack of individual narratives that represent many of the Hmong people. The time is more so now for our young scholars and continuous learners to hear different and feel voices that can be relative or challenging.”
