ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Ming Lee holds a bachelor's degree in Human Services from Metropolitan State University in Saint Paul, Minnesota.  He spent several years teaching at a Hmong charter school in Minnesota before returning to his hometown in California. He has taught English in South Korea and traveled extensively across Asia, visiting countries like China, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, and more. Despite his adventures, Ming felt a deep connection to Laos, his parents' homeland, where many Hmong people still reside. In 2018, Ming volunteered as an English teacher in rural Luang Prabang, providing free lessons to underprivileged students. After returning home, he realized the lack of stories highlighting the struggles and triumphs of Hmong students in Laos. While battling stage 3 colorectal cancer in 2022, Ming channeled his determination into bringing their stories to life in a book, ensuring the world knows about their challenges, resilience, and hope for a brighter future.
